Wildfires pose a unique risk to electric utilities.  As wildfires continue to increase in frequency due to the impacts of climate change, the increase in population in the wildland/urban interface compounds a utility's operation and financial risk. As a result, both the management of wildfire risk and the regulatory / legislative environment have have emerged as key risk factors affecting the financial integrity of utilities operating in wildfire-prone areas.
